Subject: BC School Counsellors Association Request My name is Dave MacKenzie and I am with the BC School Counsellors Association. There has been a flurry of inquiries from our member counsellors from across the province about admission to post-secondary institutions and the requirement for students to write the optional provincial exams. The optional nature of all grade 12 prov exams, except Language Arts 12 and First Nations Studies 12, is new this year with the implementation of the 2004 Graduation Program. I have begun developing a web page to collect and consolidate the information about different post-secondary institutions around the country. http://bctf.ca/psas/BCSCA/prov_exams.htm I was wondering if you could forward this message to your admission's officer contacts in within your member institutions.... Asking them to clarify their institution's position on the requirement of the optional BC provincial exams. The clarification could take 1 or both of the following forms.... 1. an URL that states the particular institution's position regarding admissions and BC prov exams and or 2. an email sent directly to me, that states the particular institution's position regarding admissions and BC prov exams In either case, I would post the messages, as EVIDENCE that the information that I am posting is reliable and accurate. Thanks in advance for your help.... In the end this is likely to save everyone a lot of time answering individual questions Dave MacKenzie Technology chairperson BC School Counsellors Association Janeen Hoover Registrar Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning
